Cycle Around The Sherry Triangle With Headwater

LEADING  walking and cycling operator Headwater have launched two new gentle self guided cycling holidays around Southern Spain's acclaimed Sherry Triangle.

Exploring the Andalucian province of Cadiz, both routes have been carefully crafted to cleverly balance cultural highlights and historic treasures with natural beauty and scenically stunning coastal and country cycling –with the bonus of some of Europe’s best Blue Flag beaches.

Starting and ending in Jerez – home to sherry, Arab horses, flamenco and dance – Headwater's cycling loop follows mainly eco-friendly greenways east, first stopping off at picture perfect Arcos de la Frontera, before heading south through orange and almond orchards to hilltop Medina Sidonia, a declared Historical Site oozing architectural and cultural interest fating back to the Phoenicians.

You then pedal gently west (fabulous bird spotting including Egyptian Vultures and Bonellis Eagles, right) and are rewarded with spectacular views out across the Atlantic Ocean –even Africa is clearly visible on the horizon! After  two nights in coastal Cadiz, one of the oldest inhabited cities in Europe with a new-world American feel it's a final loop back north to Jerez.

Customers of Northwich-based Headwater can choose either a seven or nine nigh version of these holidays, and itineraries can be adapted to suit personal diaries.
