Grosvenor 'best place to stay in UK'

THE Chester Grosvenor and Spa has been named as the UK's number one hotel in a new list compiled by the world's largest online travel booking site, Expedia.

It ranked a credible 11th place in the Insiders' Select List of the world's best hotels for quality and value.

As well as being crowned best UK hotel, the 80-bedroom Chester Grosvenor and Spa was also ranked fourth best in Europe and 11th globally.

"We work hard to provide guests with the best possible service to ensure they have the best experience during their stay with us," said Jonathan Slater, MD of the hotel. "We are so proud to have been voted as the best hotel in the UK by our guests - as they really are the ones to matter most to us."

The list considered three factors - the reviews of more than one million travellers after completing a stay at a hotel booked on Expedia sites, a value rating that compares each hotel's average daily rates to similar properties, and the expertise of more than 400 Expedia market managers around the world.

The Galaxy Iraklio Hotel, Crete, it says, is the best hotel in Europe and the world.
