St James Hotel Bordeaux Luxury Escape

ONE of France’s top hotels, Le Saint James, just outside Bordeaux, has announced a luxury getaway package, Discover Aquitaine, available from April to October 2014 (subject to availability).

The package combines a two night stay at Le Saint James with dinner on both evenings, a day at the iconic Bay of Arcachon, oyster tasting on a typical ‘pinasse’ boat, and a cookery lesson in the contemporary hotel’s state of the art cookery school. Arcachon is home to the Dune du Pilat – the highest sand dune in Europe.

Included a five course gastronomic meal for two created by Michelin starred chef Nicholas Magie, with matching wines, and a second dinner at the hotel's own traditional French bistro, Café de l'Espérance, two minutes away in the village of Bouliac.

Le Saint James, a member of Relais & Chateaux, was designed to make the most of the space and natural light available. The focal point for all 18 bedrooms is panoramic views over the hotel's vineyards, outdoor heated swimming pool, the River Garonne and Bordeaux in the distance.

The total price of the luxurious package is £1,404 based on two people sharing a deluxe room and is available from April to October 2014.
