Benidorm’s Buzzing This Summer

Benidorm belies its cheap and cheerful package image with some stunning events:

The Electrobeach Festival (August 16-17)
This clubbing extravaganza has also proved a huge success with visitors.  This year it features  two of the most important artists on the international scene: Carl Cox and Cristian Varela alongside Nicole  Mouldaber, Bushwaka!  the legendary Jeff Mills and John Rundell. The  open air stage of Terra Mitica Theme park boasts a spectacular location in the hills overlooking the Benidorm coastline. Tickets are on sale from €30 for both days  – and the bonus views are thrown in for free!

Benidorm Pride (September 8-15)
Spain’s youngest pride event promises to be bigger, better and more dazzling than ever in its 3rd year, with  a week  long  programme of art, cultural, sporting events and parties of course, at venues throughout the town. Pride Week starts with an opening party at Paradise Disco on September 7 and a boat party on the 8th. It all culminates in the main Parade on Saturday 14th with events running all night and wrapping up with a community Tapas Party in the town centre on Sunday.

The ‘Nights at the Castle’ is a popular programme of craft fairs, artists and musicians  until September 30 at Plaza Castelar, Plaza Santa Ana and La Senoria. This year there are 15 artists located throughout the town and beach areas with local artisan stalls offering ítems from pottery to precious stones. There are also a number of free musical performances at Plaza Santa Ana.

Terra Mitica is the newest of five excellent theme parks in Benidorm and has just opened a new FREE entrance section for the summer season!  Iberia Park is a new playground area adjoining the theme park with free entrance and pay as you go rides. It hosts more than a dozen attractions, restaurants  and entertainment such as ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ , a colourful pirate show; and The Magic Experience, a new magic show  featuring Jorge Moreno.
