easyJet is launching three new winter routes from Manchester Airport. Flights from Manchester to Amsterdam, Hamburg and Gothenburg are now on sale with lead fares for all destinations starting at £27.99 one-way (including taxes). The first flight to Amsterdam is scheduled to fly on Monday, November 1, followed by Hamburg on Friday 26 November and Gothenburg (Sweden) on Friday 10 December. easyJet now offers a total of 22 routes from Manchester and carries more than 900,000 passengers from the base each year.

A fabulous offer for golfers was announced at the Open Championship dinner. Jet2.com has teamed up with Golf Veneto (www.golfinveneto.com ) to offer enthusiasts the chance to jet off to the prime Italian golfing region of Veneto – and take their clubs free. Fans of the game flying out of Manchester and Leeds Bradford airports will be entitled to check-in one set of clubs per passenger, at no cost when they book at www.Jet2.com by simply entering the promo-code “VENETOGOLF” – making a saving of £55. The free golf clubs offer is only valid for bookings made between July 15t and August 15 2010 and is applicable on flights to Venice leaving between October 1-31.

Over 100,000 passengers a year are expected to use Manchester Airport’s new Escape Lounge in Terminal 1. The £1.7 million investment includes separate areas for relaxation and business, including a self-contained meeting or private function room plus catering from Mosaic Hospitality. Quirky touches include a Scalextric track and Wii. The new Lounge was initially announced in April 2010 alongside the launch of the ‘The Travel Extras Store’ on Manchester’s website. The airport already has an Escape offering in Terminal 2 and hopes to launch a third in Terminal 3 in the near future. The airport also has plans to introduce a Control Tower Bar to Terminal 1 to a vacant tower facility by the end of the year. Customers can book into the new lounge at manchesterairport.co.uk or by phone on 0871 200 4450. More information on Mosaic Hospitality is available at: www.rwbespoke.com .

It’s all go. The new lounge in Terminal 1 will be in good company standing alongside the new Emirates Lounge, which was opened in October 2009. And later this year Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will open its dedicated Etihad Airways premium lounge – the third outside of Abu Dhabi. The lounge will offer five-star dining, a family room, and a business centre among its range of services.

Expanding Etihad can now accommodate close to 60 per cent more passengers from Manchester, with the introduction of a Boeing 777 aircraft on the daily flight to its home hub in Abu Dhabi.

The Boeing 777, with 28 Pearl Business class and 384 Coral Economy class seats, replaces the two-class Airbus A330 and has made available 2,100 extra seats each week this summer.

Flybe has launched its first ever route from Manchester to Bournemouth – a year-round six times a week service. Flights can be booked at www.flybe.com with fares from £24.99 one way, including taxes and charges.

The airline offers passengers benefits that includes Premium Economy travel with dedicated Executive Lounges, Rewards4all loyalty programme as well as a through check-in service link with Virgin Atlantic. This means that those travelling with a through ticket for Flybe and Virgin Atlantic sectors to and from Manchester, can now have their boarding cards issued for both flights at the start of their journey.

Fancy a Greek getaway as the weather turns damp? Monarch has expanded its portfolio of flights to the Greek Islands with the addition of a new weekly service from Manchester to Santorini. Flights are available to book via www.monarch.co.uk.

Monarch's charter flights to Santorini operate every Tuesday until October 5. Flights start from £160 return, inclusive of all taxes and charges and can be booked via www.monarch.co.uk.
