SAS is to launch a new direct route from Manchester to Bergen to start operations on January 6, 2012. The twice-weekly service will be replacing SAS’s London Gatwick–Bergen route, which will cease operations on November 1, 2011.
Located in the south of Norway, Bergen’s key attractions include fjord cruises to discover dramatic landscapes, or visiting Bryggen – the Hanseatic wharf, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – the centre of city life for more than 400 years.
The twice-weekly flights will operate on Monday and Friday and prices start from £82, one-way including all taxes and surcharges.
Hans Dyhrfort, SAS Regional General Manager for the UK, Ireland & Iceland, said: “We are delighted to be extending our existing network from Manchester, which already includes direct routes to the three Scandinavian capitals, Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen. Manchester is a key regional hub for SAS.”
